Your front door is often the very first impression someone will get of your home. This is why it is vitally important that you get a door that blends in and complements the rest of your property. We here at Buildmydoor specialise in installing a range of modern and traditional designs, including grey composite doors, for our customers in Fareham, Southampton, Hamble, Chandlers Ford, Winchester, Hampshire, and the surrounding areas.
Grey composite doors are very popular for contemporary properties but can also suit traditional homes. All of the composite doors that we install are available in both a realistic woodgrain that mimics traditional painted timber, and a sleeker textured modern finish. Front doors can experience a lot of wear and tear over the years, especially from the unpredictable British weather. With a potential lifespan of 30 years, your composite door will face a lot of wind, rain, and direct sunlight over its lifetime. This exposure to the elements can often result in damage to the door, including warping, colour fading, or even peeling in traditional timber doors.
During the manufacturing process, your bespoke grey composite door will be covered in a highly durable powder coating. This coating creates a protective layer over the surface of your door, preventing the colour from fading in the sunlight, as well as stopping any damp, warping or weather damage from occurring. While timber doors often need sanding and repainting every few years, your new composite door won’t require any additional maintenance.
We know how important it is to feel safe within your own home, which is why we make sure that our grey composite doors are designed with security in mind. The composite doors that we install are manufactured with a solid core in the centre. Other composite doors are often filled with foam, allowing it to give in under excessive force. However, this robust solid core gives structure to your door, as well as helping to protect it against forced entry.
Your new composite door is also designed with strategically placed thermally broken chambers throughout the frame and body. These chambers work by trapping pockets of warm air, creating a thermal barrier that prevents warm air from escaping or cold air from entering your home.

Every door we install comes with an 11-pin Ultion lock fitted as standard. Designed with a corrosion-resistant molybdenum core, this lock is approved by the British police Secured by Design home protection scheme. If your lock senses any attempt at forced entry, such as picking or blunt force, it will enter a ‘lock-down’ mode that protects the barrel from snapping.
Every Ultion lock installed comes with a 10 year guarantee. If your Ultion lock breaks or fails during the event of a break-in, we will replace your grey composite door with a brand new one free of charge, as well as giving you £2000 in compensation towards damages. Should you sell your property within that 10 year timeframe, this guarantee is transferrable to the new owner, ensuring they are protected too.
