With a realistic woodgrain finish, your new green composite doors have a potential lifespan of 30 years with minimal upkeep. We here at Buildmydoor specialise in installing composite doors, while other home improvement installation companies often spread their focus with windows, conservatories, and other fittings. This specialisation allows us to focus on installing composite doors to an incredibly high standard, bringing that knowledge and expertise to every fitting we perform.VIEW STYLES
Your new green composite doors will face a lot of wear and tear over the years, including daily use and exposure to the unpredictable British weather. Traditional timber doors can often suffer from chipping, peeling, and fading, meaning that they have to be sanded and repainted every few years. However, our green composite doors are designed to last for decades with little to no additional maintenance.
To create a seamless and robust surface of your door, the outer layer is made from a combination of different materials. This includes glass reinforced plastic (GRP), uPVC, natural fibres and more, which all work together to cancel out weaknesses in any individual material. Your green composite doors are also covered in a professional powder coating, protecting your door both from colour fading, but also warping and other weather damage.
Like all of the composite doors that we install, our green composite doors are built around a central solid core. Other door manufacturers often fill their doors with a thermally efficient but structureless foam that allows for it to break easily under force. The solid core that our composite doors feature gives your door a solid body for extra protection and thermal efficiency.
This solid core is made from sixteen layers of laminated Kerto timber. Each layer is fitted with an alternating grain so as not to create weak spots. This works alongside Liniar’s steel lined framework to protect your door from being forced open, as well as preventing draughts or heat loss.
Alongside the solid core, the green composite doors that we install come installed with an Ultion lock as standard. An 11-pin lock with a molybdenum core, the Ultion lock is accredited by the police backed Secured by Design scheme that promotes home security. Upon registering any attempt at forced entry, the lock enters a ‘lock-down’ mode that prevents damage to the central barrels. This stops any attempted burglars from snapping the lock and gaining entry to your home.
Each Ultion lock comes with its own 10 year guarantee. If your Ultion lock fails during the event of a break in or burglary, then we will replace your composite door free of charge. We will also provide you with £500 in compensation for any damage to your property from the break in. Should you sell your home within that 10 year period, the guarantee can be transferred to the new owner so that they are also protected.
