Composite Door Prices
How much does a composite door cost?
If you’re looking for a new front door, one of the first questions you’re likely to have is: how much does a composite door cost?
The answer depends on the door you choose. Composite doors can be highly customised, so the final price will vary according to the style, colour, glazing, hardware, size and whether you need additional panels.
At Buildmydoor, we supply composite doors to homeowners and trade customers, with options to suit a wide range of budgets and properties.

What affects the price of a composite door?
There are several things that can change the cost of your new door.
Door style
Different composite door styles are priced differently. You can choose from traditional, cottage and contemporary designs, as well as modern flush and urban styles.
A simple solid door will generally cost less than a highly detailed design with specialist glazing and hardware.
Colour
Standard colours are usually included within the basic door price, while a bespoke RAL colour or other specialist finish may cost more.
With a wide choice of colours available, you don’t necessarily need to spend more to create a distinctive front door.
Glass
Glazing is another factor to consider. A simple glazed panel can be relatively inexpensive, while decorative, obscure or specialist triple glazing can increase the overall price.
If you prefer a completely private entrance, there are also plenty of attractive solid composite door styles without glass.
Hardware
Handles, letterplates, knockers and other door furniture come in a range of styles and finishes.
Choosing more specialist hardware can increase the price, but it’s also an opportunity to completely change the look of your front door.
Side panels and top boxes
If you have a wider entrance, you may want to add one or two side panels, or a glazed top box.
These can make a significant difference to the appearance of an entrance and allow more natural light into your hallway, but they will add to the overall cost.
Short, Small or Narrow Composite Doors
Short and narrow composite doors are one of our specialities. If you have an unusual or restricted-size doorway, we can supply made-to-measure composite doors to suit.
These doors can require specialist locking mechanisms and components, so they may cost more than a standard-sized composite door. If you’re replacing an unusually short, small or narrow front door, get in touch and we’ll be happy to discuss your requirements.

How much should I budget for a new composite door?
There isn’t one standard price for a composite door because every specification is different.
A basic, unglazed composite door will generally cost less than a fully customised entrance with decorative glazing, specialist hardware and side panels.
The best way to get an accurate price is to choose the specification you want rather than relying on a general price guide.
If you’re not sure what you need, we’re happy to help you work through the options and provide a free, no-obligation quote.
